Why the Wedding DJ is Different

My product is an intangible service. I am selling a "feeling" manufactured through performance. You want your guests to feel good. That's what you're really buying. How successful the event becomes will depend on the DJs skills and tools, as well as options you choose. Some wedding DJs are better than others. How important is entertainment for your event? What about the quality worth paying for? The short answer is that it honestly depends on event type and results desired. For example, a wedding reception requires more skills than a "house party". Because the average person hires a DJ only three times in their lifetime, it's understandable that most people don't always know what to look for (other than price) when hiring a wedding DJ for their wedding reception. I will help guide you through the important considerations for hiring a wedding DJ.


Most DJs do not own capable equipment for any event with over 250 guests. That's because most events these days have less than 200 guests and average 150 people. Therefore it makes sense that most DJs buy inferior equipment to handle only those average sized events. Most DJs would never disclose their equipment shortcomings honestly. Their attitude is, "the client doesn't know the difference anyway." Unfortunately for you, they would be right most of the time. However; during the party, you would discover something is wrong.   1. Will you be dressed appropriate for my event?
    • Yes I will be dressed to complement your event. I normally wear a tuxedo for weddings but I have been asked to dress less formally and you can certainly request that I dress in the attire of your preference.
  2. What is the process for booking you as our wedding DJ?
    • The very first step is to fill out the short wedding disc jockey inquiry form on the contact page. I prefer to meet with couples before they sign with me. We can meet at your place, in my professional office located in Middletown, CT or someplace in between. This will allow us to determine if we will be a good fit for one another. I offer a highly-personalized service. Thus, it is important that we get to know each other. Many of my past clients have said that hiring me felt like they were hiring a friend and that is my goal. You should feel comfortable trusting me to be the DJ at your wedding.
  3. We live out of state. What is our process for booking you as our wedding DJ?
    • You are not the first couple to hire me for their wedding that lived out of state but were having a wedding in CT. Since meeting in person is not possible, the next best thing would be to set up a time for us to have a similar meeting using either Skype™, Google Hangouts™, Face Time® or just the regular telephone. We will thoroughly go over the same information as an in-person meeting.
  4. We looked over your entire website and we want to book your affordable wedding DJ entertainment services now to retain the date. What's the fastest way to book you?
      If you are ready to book now so that you can guarantee my availability for your wedding, send me a message using the contact form on the contact page and mention that you want to book now. I will give you the password so you can download a contract immediately. Fill out and sign the contract and send it along with the retainer. If you prefer to pay the retainer with a credit/debit card, send me an email and I'll send you an invoice payable by credit/debit card. You can always book first with DJ services and add extra services later.
  5. How do we know if you're the right DJ for our wedding in CT?
